Mr. Darren Guo, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse China, was invited to participate in the 7th CIIE

On November 8, 2024, Mr. Darren Guo, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse China, was invited to participate in the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE).

For the first time, a Shanghai conference was held as part of this year's CIIE. "The 7th China Convention & Exhibition Industry International Trade Forum", an affiliated forum of the Shanghai event, took place on November 7-8, 2024, at the Greenland Primus Hotel in Hongqiao, Shanghai.

The forum, themed "Exhibitions Driving High-Level Opening-Up," brought together over 300 distinguished guests, including international dignitaries, officials from international organizations, leaders from national and local exhibition authorities, representatives from Fortune 500 companies and industry-leading enterprises, major exhibition organizers, managers of renowned venues, exhibition service agencies, and prominent media from China and abroad. They gathered to discuss how the exhibition industry can seize development opportunities and foster win-win growth amidst increasing global economic uncertainties.

As a panelist in the "Game Theory and Win-Win Cooperation" roundtable discussion, Mr. Guo engaged in an in-depth discussion with other guests on how Chinese and international exhibition enterprises can achieve win-win cooperation in the context of international competition.

In today’s era of deepening globalization, “Game Theory and Win-Win Cooperation” has become a core theme in international trade. Facing challenges such as the rise of trade protectionism and sluggish economic growth, China has demonstrated its commitment to supporting multilateral trade and promoting free trade through hosting the CIIE.

As one of the world’s most influential exhibition platforms, the CIIE serves not only as a stage for companies to showcase their products and technologies but also as a bridge for communication and cooperation between Chinese and international enterprises, providing valuable space for finding collaborative opportunities amid competition.

During the roundtable, Mr. Guo and his fellow panelists explored how Chinese and international exhibition enterprises perceive their competitive relationship in an increasingly globalized market. He noted, "Competition not only drives industry growth but also offers enterprises opportunities to learn and improve. Amid the complex changes in the global market, Chinese and international exhibition enterprises should remain open-minded, embracing valuable experiences from various markets. Through transformation and innovation, we can foster broader cooperation.” He also emphasized, “Competition and cooperation are not mutually exclusive; they should advance hand in hand. Chinese and international exhibition enterprises can leverage each other’s strengths to achieve win-win outcomes."

Mr. Guo's insights were widely recognized by the forum participants, who agreed that international competition not only strengthens enterprises but also provides opportunities for resource sharing and mutual growth. In a global environment where challenges and opportunities coexist, the exhibition industry should seek entry points for cooperation while competing, ultimately achieving resource integration and shared markets for a win-win outcome.

Looking to the future of the exhibition industry, Mr. Guo offered forward-looking recommendations: Chinese and international exhibition enterprises should continuously explore win-win development models amid deepened reforms. Close cooperation should be prioritized to harness complementary strengths in markets and resources, contributing to global economic recovery and sustainable growth. He suggested that companies can expand cooperation by co-hosting international exhibitions and jointly developing digital platforms, further leveraging their advantages to enhance competitiveness in the global market.

In its future development, NürnbergMesse China will uphold the principle of "cooperation and win-win," closely monitoring and actively participating in the latest trends in the international exhibition industry, promoting deeper collaboration between Chinese and international exhibition enterprises. As a key promoter of the global exhibition industry, NürnbergMesse China is committed to creating an open, inclusive, and mutually beneficial global exhibition environment, actively contributing to the recovery and prosperity of the global economy.
